It is easily accessed by car, only 2 hours drive from M25 and 50 minutes from M42/M5 Junction. For airports, both Bristol and Cardiff airport are 1 hour drive away.

The Cottage is located in the heart of the Wye Valley, just off the main A 40 dual carriageway road. We are 3 miles from Monmouth and 7 miles from Ross-on-Wye with the English / Welsh national boundary less than 1 mile away.

From the South West, South Wales and Monmouth

If you are travelling from South Wales, the South West or the M4 you will arrive in Monmouth on the A40. At Monmouth continue on the A40 heading North towards Ross on Wye and the Midlands. As you head out of Monmouth you will go straight over a large roundabout then proceed up a long hill. At the top of this hill (2 miles) you will go under a Sandstone Bridge, you then need to take the Left Slip Road immediately after the bridge. This is sign posted for Wyastone, Ganarew and the Doward. The road will curve around to the left. Take the second turning to the right, marked as a dead end. This turning will be found before you reach the bridge over the main A40 road. Drive pass the care home and the Cottage can be found on the left, adjacent to the care home and opposite the church. 

From The North, The Midlands and Ross-on-Wye

If you are travelling from Herefordshire, Gloucestershire or the Midlands you will arrive at Ross on Wye on the A40. Continue on the A40 heading south towards Monmouth and South Wales. After 7 miles you will pass the village of Whitchurch and then travel up a long hill. At the top of this hill you will go under a Sandstone Bridge, you then need to take the Left Slip Road immediately after the bridge. This is sign posted for Ganarew and the Doward. After 200 metres you will come to a small triangular road junction. Take the left at this junction and follow the road up over the Bridge. After the bridge, just as the road bends to the right, you will see a turning to the left marked as a dead end. Take this turning left and drive on past the care home.
